Arty-Lee High School of Dante, which was known as one of the finest higher education facilities for the Black Community, proudly stood on these grounds. The famous Dante Ballfield continues to stand as a testament to the love of sports during its glory days. This entire area is a hollow fill from the dirt and rocks that were shoveled from the tunnel construction. The two signs at the entrance to this campground tell the story of the Dante Ballfield and the Arty Lee School so the rich history and its people are forever remembered.
